1 Week

I can't wait until next week!!! Mom & Blake will be leaving DFW & headed to CPH(Denmark). It has been just a little over a year that I seen them last,WOW! I have so many emotions & thoughts right now. I am sure I will not be able to sleep the days before their arrival. We all went from seeing each other every month to now once a year. Thank goodness for today's technology. It will definitely be a wonderful reunion.

Niece

Gerard & I are a Oom-Uncle & Tante-Auntie again to our new niece. Baby' Franka' made her debut on June 20th. From the pictures we have seen she has a headful of hair & it's looking light brownish. Just Precious! We are super excited for Wessel, Marga & Wessel!
Congratulations & many Hugs!!!

Birthday

Happy 32th Birthday~Gerard!
Gerard's birthday was nice & lowkey. The chessecake cupcakes were for some of the workers & Gerard's parents. A little extra sweetness for breakfast! Later in evening we had appetizers & strawberry kvark tart  during the Euro 2012 soccer game. Gerard's parents also joined us for some birthday fun. One of Gerard's birthday gifts was a grill. We hope to fire it up soon. It was a great Sunday birthday!!

30? what? It was a little joke because Gerard always says he will be ''30''!!!

Weekend in NL~Family

We all started off by traveling to Holland on a Thursday & home on Sunday. What a wonderful weekend filled with family, laughing, smiling, family wedding, relaxing, birthdays & much love.

On the ferry headed to NL.....

The drive to Wessel & Marga's(Reeuwijk) was not too bad except the last part...TRAFFIC!  Kudos to the ones who drive it daily. We will stick to our country life!

After dinner we gave a few gifts to Wessel & Marga for the baby. Gerard says,''Awww it's a baby shower'' in his sarcastic voice.

Of course~ I made sure our little niece would have something  girly. A set of hair bows & a outfit with zebra pattern.

Marga's sweet baby bump. I wanted to wish Marga a wonderful summer off. Friday was her last working day & now is on maternity leave. Enjoy!

Happy Early Birthday...Wessel! He was opening Oma & Opa's gift after breakfast.

So happy about his JD tractor.

This picture says it all!

Best of friends~Opa & Wessel

We all enjoyed the hammock.

On Saturday we headed to the beach to have lunch & some fun in the sun. This place is close to where Marga & Wessel live.

These were some big fish in the entrance area.

PPpppllease don't eat me....

Our view at the restaurant, it was so relaxing.

Gerard finally got his kroket!

One of my favorite photos.

Family of 4

I love how Opa is carrying Oma's purse, true love.

Gerard, Marga & me went to the store for groceries one afternoon. I think Gerard is the only one who buys snert in the summer. Snert is a winter pea soup, but G eats it all year long. We had a fun time getting all our dutch goodies to take back home.

Bike tour

More birthday gifts,Yeah! This time from Tante Heather & Oom Gerard.

I have a little funny moment to share.Well I thought it was,ha. At first when I would talk to Wessel or look at him he was uncertain or just shy. For one thing I talk in English & the other he doesn't see me so often, okay. So Oma tells me he doesn't know you because your not on Skype! They do Skype chats sometimes. It was funny, but so true if you think about it. By the end of the weekend he warmed up to me.

Happy 2nd Birthday to one sweet little boy who has all our hearts.

BBQ Master

Saturday evening BBQ

After dinner Gerard & I decided to go on a bike tour. I have been to Holland so soooo many times, but never go on  bike tour. We are always doing something else or no time. We made time for it plus the weather was amazing. I can ride a bike it's the getting on correctly & paying attention. Gerard was teasing me I would fall off or something would happen. We left G's brother's house & BAM my hand hits the wooden fence because I was trying to ring the bell goodbye....not paying attention. It hurt so bad ,but kept going & no blood yet. At this time Gerard is laughing, the neighbors are peeking over fence & I was whining. I was going on a bike tour no matter what! Off we went & the only thing Gerard kept telling me don't fall in the canal,I didn't. I stayed next to him or a little behind him. We stopped a couple of times to look at the map or just look at the view. There was so many things to see & we seen a bird(I don't know the name of it,it was big)hunting for fish. We had almost past by & the big bird was lucky & caught a tiny little fishy. Pure nature & so cool to see. Then of course, I rode in front of a car...Oops luckily it was on a small road not going fast. All I could hear is G  saying,''Heather...Heather...STOP'' but I couldn't stop at the time. We stopped one more time & my flipflop got stuck & the pedal scratched my ankle up,geezzzzz. Gerard is still laughing at me! Then we went through a little cloud of flies/bugs by the lake & one went up my nose, yuck! I told G & he was making fun of me....then I see him make weird faces & one went into his mouth,ha! That's what he gets for making fun of me,right?!? Finally, we were headed home & my flipflop came off while going down the road. Luckily(again), Gerard stopped to get it for me & it all worked out. We had a great time despite my little bike moments. Next time maybe it's better if I wear a helmet & full body pads! It may all sound a little corny, but this is normally how it goes with us daily...joking, laughing & teasing one another. I am always the one tagging behind not paying attention, too busy talking- bossing Gerard around or always asking why. I mean it when I say,''It is never a dull moment with us.''

The male duck /bird was gathering sticks for the nest while the female sat waiting.

Limbo-Limbo-Limbo

With LOVE.

Thank you Marga for making my birthday cake. It sure was yummy!

We left Marga & Wessel's & headed to visit Oma Klunder in Ruinen. Oma was really sick at the time so we couldn't visit with her so much, but we seen her for a little bit. She is doing much better now & making progress.

Until next time~Goodbye NL.

We stopped in Germany for some birthday dinner. It was a nice little German resturant.

I had amazing birthday & weekend in Holland.

On the ferry back to Denmark.

Sailing home.

The End.
